Review
I would give a rating of 3.5 to "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" on a scale of 5. Hmmmmmm may be 3.75 for the great performance by Shah Rukh and debutant Anuska. It will definitely figure in Top 10 romantic movies I have ever watched.
I won't be repeating what other critics have already said. I won't mention the story either as I don't want to ruin the surprise element involved. I will just put my review in simple and straight forward terms.
What I liked about the movie
First I will congratulate Shah Rukh for his brilliant display of character and acting. He has made complete justice to the two characters Surinder Sahni and Raj. Suri is like any common working class in India who are simple, ordinary, shy and introvert. On the other hand Raj is lively, loud and full of enthusiasm. In a nutshell he is everything what Suri is not. Shah Rukh has put life into these two characters brilliantly even when they are diverse and poles apart. All credit goes to his ability to act and captivate attention of audience.
Anuska Sharma plays the character of Taani (A playful n happy going character) in the movie. Even if she shares the screen with one of the greatest actors in all time, she still manages to come out with a power packed performance and got noticed by the critics. This is nothing short of remarkable and she deserves applause for her great work. Taani Ji….Just One Question. How did you manage to ride the bike?
Great Songs with simple and beautiful lyrics. My personal favourite is "Dance Pe Chance". Sometimes I wonder how they could come up with such remarkable songs by putting some simple words in dance terminology. "Haule Haule" and "Rab Ne Bana Di jodi' are also nice and soothing to the ears.
The movie tries to provide a simple answer to the difficult question which haunts most men. "What does a woman really want?” Well frankly speaking, the answer is not enough and does not help. More explanation please...
Suri, An ordinary man deciding to take extra ordinary steps to win back his Love. He can't rush because it might ruin everything. He needs to play it safe and take steps in a 'Haule Haule' manner. SRK and Adi do it with perfection.. The repeated use of the word 'Ji' makes the movie even sweeter.
All is well that ends well. Yes, I am talking about end of the movie where Suri shares loads of phots from their trip to Japan with his comments.
Things that could have been better
Taani not being able to recognize her husband in his new avatar 'Raj' after make over. It seems a bit unrealistic. Even Anuska Ji agrees to this in one of her interviews to Headlines Today.
Will I recommend this movie to my friends – Definitely Yes

I must agree SRK rocks the stage. Even with his tightly fighted clothes giving a cool look to Raj to a common Man Suri..I love the bike scene , the golgappa's , the dance practises did get my foot moving too.. There's so much to say.. The Japan trip was fun too.. All in all a true entertainment package. Do watch it guys and judge it urself.. Nice coverage Bibek.
I haven't watched the movie yet and wasn't planning to either..Will have to think after your review!
I do not know. Something has happened to me. I never felt for any other actress as i feel for Anuska. I have watched the movie atleast half a dozen times. SRK is superb. And this is one of the most romantic movie I ever watched.
Mujhe tani mein rab dikhta hai. Mein kya karuin ?
Well I do not believe in competition. I could connect to Suri, Raj and Taani and this is what i like. In the whole movie, we do not feel that people are acting . SRK and Anushka are too good and too natural. SRK is King. But for a new comer, I would say its a superb performance. Anuska's acting seemed natural, real and ...
Hats off to both the stars
